Minutes of Meeting held 6 November 2018 were approved. Matters arising –None
Treasurer/Membership Secretary ( B Hill/J Pomfret) Copy of pre audit accounts available which indicate an excess of expenditure over income of £2,061.75; the majority of which may be related to Fisheries Maintenance costs.
A discussion took place regarding ways to address this issue. Mr Pomfret provided details of income streams for the past 4 seasons, which indicate a slow reduction in members, the current membership being 126 full & 7 restricted. The data indicated that the increase in work party levy introduced in 2018 had ”masked” the reduction in subscriptions. It was agreed that the would be NO increase in entry fees or work party levy, but subscriptions would INCREASE by £5, (this applies to categories full, senior, disabled & restricted). No change to junior and social members.
It was agreed that membership of Loddon Valley Fisheries Consultative should continue, subscription £25.
Hon Curator ( P Gibson) Match reports are available on web-site. The Xmas match followed by the excellent meal at the Saddlers Arms was enjoyed by participants, particularly those who caught! The final edition of the 2019 Fixture List had been circulated and was agreed.
Sea It was agreed that all reference to CLPS Sea Section be removed from the membership book until activity occurred.
Fishery Reports
Weyside Fishing consistently, with carp being caught despite cold weather. There are new tenants occupying the stables. The access “Bridge” at the first entrance gate is due to be “repaired” as part of ongoing works to the footpaths by the local footpath association ( Surrey CC?)
Wraysbury As a result of discussions by the steering group which established the fixture list, 5 contractors were approached to obtain quotes to carry out tree clearance works to improve vehicular access for the full length of the fishery, one subsequently declining to quote. The quotes were not considered in detail, but it was resolved that Godwins, the lowest quote, be requested to clarify whether bankside clearance work could be included in the price of £875.00. Subsequently, in view of the limited time available before legislation relating to disturbance of nesting birds comes into effect, round robin telephone conversations took place to clarify the matter. These conversations resulted in an agreement for Godwins to undertake the work as soon as possible. The Committee will be notified, in advance, of the dates during which the works will be completed.
Wargrave Fishery in good order with patient anglers being successful with chub and pike. Reports indicate that the self seeded trees/saplings from both the small field by the sewerage farm, pegs 1 to 4? and lower meadow, pegs 24 to 34 had been cleared; possibly due to a programmed extension to the fruit farm?

There being no other business the meeting closed at 9.15pm
