Minutes of Committee Meeting,6 November 2018; Chairman Colin Sweby

The Chairman opened the meeting with the CLPS toast: Long may it flourish, root, branch and forever.

Present   D Jones, C Gibson, A Tullett, J Bowman & C Sweby. Apologies B Hill, M Paget & J Pomfret

Minutes of Meeting held 4 September 2018 were approved.

Matters arising –None

Treasurer ( B Hill)   e-mail received from B Hill. Income reduced over year with increase in expenditure mainly due to works at Weyside. Cash flow deficit approx.. £1700. Request by N Fry for expenditure to update web-site agreed.     

Membership Secretary ( J Pomfret) e-mail received from J Pomfret. The 2018 membership returns currently indicate a total of 125 full members & 11 restricted.  John is happy to be re-elected as membership secretary at the AGM.

Hon Curator ( P Gibson) Match reports are available on web-site.

Final Championship positions :- 1st M Paget, 2nd J Barton, 3rd C Sweby, 4th N Gilbert

2019 Fixture list; C Gibson, M Paget, J Barton & C Sweby to form a working group to produce a 2019 list of dates etc.

Sea No information available. It was agreed that the Sea angling section would not be included on Agenda unless activity occurred.

Fishery Reports

Weyside                   1) Inlet pipe from stream. It was agreed that the filter to the feeder pipe should be improved, if possible. Silt trap within feed to lake had been emptied by hand as the suction pump was not successful.

2)              Fishery improvement works Some dormant lillies to be planted in fish refuges. Several submerged trees growing on the islands had been removed or heavily pruned in order to ensure the fish do not become trapped after being hooked.

Wraysbury             CEMEX are no longer operating at Horton Pit as gravel reserves had been exhausted. The site is no occupied by Cappagh, a civil engineering contractor who were operating a landfill/aggregate recovery facility. It was agreed that CLPS should ensure that access to the fishery is available at all times, particularly the weekends.

Wargrave no report. Fishery in good order with patient anglers being successful.

Any Other Business               Xmas match 2nd December. It was agreed that the Saddlers Arms, Send Marsh would be the venue for the post-match meal, Cost of 3-course meal £20. A provisional booking of 12 to be made

There being no other business the meeting closed at 9.15pm
